Distracted driving is a threat to roadies. Is distracted riding the next hazard? TigraSport is making weather-resistant clear plastic iBikeConsole cases for mounting 2 popular electronic devices on the handlebar (not necessarily at the same time). Perhaps of greatest interest is the $55 mount for the iPhone, which allows use of its GPS feature and various cycling apps during rides. The case is rainproof yet enables photos and videos to be taken on the roll. TigraSport says the case fits any bar or stem diameter, allows touch-screen operation and has a silicone liner to absorb road shock. Also available is an $80 case and remote control system for the iPod Nano. This includes a 3.5-mm headphone jack that also can be used for optional external speakers. Small control pods mount near the hands to allow track and volume changes with the press of a thumb. These products are expected to be in bike shops this fall.
